Chesterfield, VA Extension Master Gardeners Virginia Cooperative Extension is a partnership of Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and local governments.

They don't care what time of day. Yes, it's best to water early AM or late PM, but that's just to reduce evaporative loss. If they thirsty, water them! Just let the hose run until the water is cool and water those babies. It's their only chance at surviving this heat wave!

Chesterfield County Fairgrounds will be buzzing on Saturday May 2 from 10am-3pm!

You know honey bees and bumblebees, but do you know about native bees? In Virginia, there are over 400 species of native bees! About 20 of the native species are currently listed as "rare." More than half of the native bee species in North America are in decline. What can you do? Teach your children about the importance of pollinators. Bring them to the Chesterfield Bee Festival on Saturday, May 2, from 10 am to 3 pm. The Extension Master Gardeners will have plenty of fun learning activities for them in the Bumblebee Jamboree area.
