🏃‍♀️ READY, SET, INCLUDE!

Kenmore Middle School 8th Annual Feet Meet was one for the record books!
More than 200 students came out, and students with and without intellectual disabilities trained and competed side by side in track and field, building confidence and making friendships that last well past the finish line.

A HUGE thank you to our Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia partners for keeping the Flame of Hope burning bright! Special shoutout to the Arlington County VA Sheriff's Office for lighting the hope of flame!

Here's to breaking barriers and celebrating inclusion!

Fall Feet Meet season is here! For many student-athletes, these school-based meets are their first experience with Special Olympics Virginia, and the start of something that can last a lifetime.

Volunteers are essential to Special Olympics Virginia. They help create opportunities for athletes to challenge themselves, build confidence and show what they can do when given the chance.

For more than 40 years, Marty Block has helped make that possible. Through his work as a coach, professor and advocate for inclusive sports, Marty has impacted generations of Special Olympics athletes and University of Virginia students, helping more people understand the value of inclusion through sport.

Every girl deserves the opportunity and support to succeed in sports! 💪

A big thank you to the Goochland High School cheer team for coaching our athletes at this weekend’s cheer clinic and to Bras for Girls Org for donating 40 sports bras to support our female athletes.

Supporting women and girls in sports means more than opening doors. It means recognizing their needs, removing barriers and making sure they have the resources to succeed.
