Would you guys be interested in a 5k walk/run in honor of children who lost their lives?

Grief is unfair 💔💔. It is not linear. Honor your emotions and feelings. You don’t learn to get over your loss or make it better. You are changed forever. Instead, you learn how to live your new life with grief. It sounds sadder than it is. It is sad, but it’s also life-changing. And if you allow your loved one to guide you, your perspective can grow in unimaginable ways.

But today, we aren’t trying to grow with grief. Today, we honor feelings and love. Grief is love with no place to go 🩷🫶🏼🫂🫂🫂🫂

Our grief support groups are for children and parents. Siblings feel the pain just as deeply as parents, and it is important that everyone has a space where they are seen, supported, and understood.

In these groups, we do more than share information. We create space for families to talk, process, and sit with their grief without judgment. We offer guidance, conversation, and tools that help both adults and children navigate grief in ways that can reduce isolation, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

Grief and trauma touch everyone at some point in life, but child and sibling loss is not something we can prepare for. It is something we learn to work through together when it becomes part of our story.

We are preparing to start our support groups again, this time in a virtual format, to reach and support families beyond our immediate area.

Our mission is to foster hope in grieving families and remind famililes they do not have to be alone at any point of their journey. 🖤💛⭐️

🖤 The Onyx Victor Foundation is looking for volunteers.

We support families after child loss by easing practical burdens and building community-based support that honors each child’s legacy.

We are a small, grassroots nonprofit, and we are ready to grow in a way that is healthy and sustainable. To do that, we are looking for a few kind, reliable people who want to help behind the scenes and be part of something meaningful.

We currently need support with:
• Community outreach and partnerships
• Administrative and operations support
• Social media and awareness
• Volunteer and event coordination

These opportunities are volunteer-based and flexible. You do not need nonprofit experience. If you care about community, compassion, and showing up for families when it matters most, we would love to connect.

If you are interested, please comment below or send us a message. Even a small amount of time can make a big difference.

🖤 Thank you for supporting this mission and helping us ensure no family walks this journey alone.

As many of you know, we recently experienced some website functionality issues. We were fortunate to connect with a wonderful family who helped us get everything back up and running smoothly.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jezzie Wadley-Readus for connecting us with her husband, Theo. Theo works in IT and is passionate about supporting his community whenever he can.

Thank you, Theo, for walking us through the process and ensuring all errors were resolved. It was truly a pleasure working with you.

Wishing everyone a warm and peaceful Saturday.
God bless the angels 👼🏼

At The OVF Family, our mission is to support every family grieving the loss of a child.

We do not base support on financial need, because child loss is child loss. Grief does not choose between rich or poor, insured or uninsured, housed or unhoused. Support should not have a class status.

An angel child also does not have an age limit. We support families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, child loss, teen loss, young adult loss, and adult child loss. There is no hierarchy of grief. One loss does not outweigh another.

Burying your child, whether they lived for moments or for years, is heartbreaking. Grief can be lifelong, and when it goes unsupported, it can lead to depression, substance use, isolation, and even su***de.

Please never feel that your loss is too small, too old, or no longer relevant. It matters. It will always matter.

The OVF Family is here to honor your child and support you, in whatever way you need, for as long as you need. 🖤💛
