📣 Our food drives kick off today, during Hunger Action Month, at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Westland!

🥫 All donations will provide food for neighbors in need, at our first Mobile Food Market, coming October 7th, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, in New Kent!

👏🏻 Please consider donating non-perishable food items listed on the flyer. You can find our donation box inside our Westland Thrift Store today.

⭐️ Tomorrow afternoon two other food donation locations will begin accepting items - St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Bon Air and TowneBank at Three Chopt Rd. and Forest Ave.

🙏🏻 Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA Board Members, including National President John Berry and National Spiritual Advisor Archbishop Bellisario, had an amazing opportunity to have a Papal audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at The Vatican today.

👏🏻 Pope Leo shared his thoughts about the work of SVDP and shared his prayers with all Vincentians.

We typically don’t post things on here about celebrities; however, today’s an exception.

🙏🏻 Maybe one of the most beloved people, Dolly Parton, passed on yesterday.

Besides being an amazing singer, writer, and entertainer, she did so much for those in need. Whether it was Imagination Library or revitalizing her home of East Tennessee that struggled in poverty, by opening Dollywood and investing so much there, she truly was an amazing human being.

She came from a home of 11. That home was a small cabin in the Smoky Mountains. Her father was illiterate. These memories stayed with her, and she would never forget where she came from. It guided her to help those in need.

Heaven just received an amazing voice and better person.

⭐️ Thank you to those who recently helped at the warehouse! A great group came together and bagged up our recycled clothing.

🙌🏻 Our baler is not available right now at the new warehouse location we use, so they had to bag so much loose clothing!

👏🏻 The recycling company came on Saturday to take the recycling. All of the bags they packed filled up a 40 foot truck!

💲 Money we get for all the recycled clothing always goes back to our mission.

🙌🏻 Thank you to St. Edward Youth Ministry for volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Bon Air yesterday!

👏🏻 8 teens and a few alumni from their Wednesday evening Life Teen group, with their Youth Minister and Seminarian, came to serve at the store, after it closed for the evening.

⭐️ They were able to load the entire box truck with donations which needed to go over to St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Westland, clear the dock, cleanup the production area, price and sort clothing, hang newly tagged clothes on the floor, and organize merchandise.

☺️ We were grateful to be able to give the group an overview of our work, sharing more about the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Richmond! They were a huge help and certainly made things easier and more efficient for those who arrived to work at the store this morning.
