✨ Last-minute wedding magic at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Westland!

😳 Peyton was in town for a wedding this weekend… and realized the dress she packed just wasn’t going to work. It wasn’t right for the location or time of day, oh no! Cue a quick trip to SVdP Westland with her friend.

👗 They found a beautiful blue and gold dress right away — and were about to leave when the perfect sweater, to go over it, caught their eyes, in exactly the right color and style. One bracelet, from the case at the checkout counter later, and she had the full look!

🙌🏻 Enter all the compliments at the wedding and reception, and Peyton was proud to tell everyone it was thrifted from SVdP that morning!

👏🏻 Her thoughts on this thrifting experience? “By far the nicest thrift store I’ve ever shopped at.” And this is coming from a frequent thrifter who’s been to A LOT of thrift stores.

🎉🔑 Last night, Billie got the keys to her very own car!

🙌🏻 Through our partnership with Revive the Drive, a donated car was beautifully rehabbed and ready for her. They even included thoughtful extras—an emergency kit, tumbler, and phone charger—and the car looked and smelled brand new inside!

☺️ In a special moment, Billie got to meet the donors’ daughter via FaceTime, whose car it was for years, and she was thrilled to meet the new owner, knowing it was going to change someone’s life.

🙏🏻 This is a huge step forward in Billie’s story, and we’re so grateful for partners who make moments like this possible.

🎄 Our Christmas Toy Shop returns this year for the second year, and our toy drives have been under way this month!

🎁 Our toy drives are taking place at both St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Westland and St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Bon Air.

🙌🏻 Thank you to our local partners also hosting toy drives this month, including Cristo Rey Richmond HS Royals, Burn Boot Camp - Short Pump, VA, and St. Edward Youth Ministry!

👏🏻 Please donate to our toy drives, through October 30th, and help make Christmas special for children, who wouldn’t otherwise be receiving anything this season.

🙌🏻 Thank you to the Forest Office Park Branch of TowneBank, on Santa Rosa Road! As the location where St. Vincent de Paul Richmond chooses to bank, we were excited for this collaboration and past support from their wonderful team!

🥫 They held one of our food drives during the month of September, for our first Mobile Choice Market, which we held last Wednesday.

☺️ When faith meets action, beautiful things happen!

🙌🏻 Thursday’s Annual Diocesan Day of Service with the Catholic Diocese of Richmond was a great day! The Patron Saint of the Richmond Diocese is St. Vincent de Paul, so this is extra special for us, especially as Bishop Knestout has always been so supportive of the work we do.

🌟 We were blessed to share more about our mission to kick off the day, and then everyone dove into hands-on service, as they:
• Served at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Westland and St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Bon Air
• Built furniture for Motel to Home Families
• Packed 100 “Bags of Hope” Blessing Bags for Neighbors in Need

👏🏻 The teamwork, conversations, and care for our neighbors made the day unforgettable. Thank you for showing up with open hearts!

🌟 Growing needs. Growing hearts. Growing impact.

🏠 Last Thursday, St. Vincent de Paul Richmond leadership gathered at the Gifford home, to map out our next chapter of growth. As the needs across the Catholic Diocese of Richmond continue to rise, so do we—as Vincentians committed to serving our neighbors with compassion and hope.

☺️ These evenings are more than meetings. They’re where vision meets fellowship, strategy is fueled by shared purpose, and we strengthen our bonds with one another, to better serve those in need.

🙌🏻 A heartfelt thank you to the Giffords for opening their home and hearts. Their hospitality created a space filled with hope, initiative, and forward momentum.

💙 The work continues!

🙌🏻 Our September Volunteer of the Month is… Roseann Iuorno! We presented Roseann with the award this afternoon, surrounded by her Tuesday afternoon friends!

👜 Roseann volunteers every Tuesday with Miriam, in the Boutique, at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store at Westland.

👏🏻 She is passionate about intentionally curating the boutique, making sure everything is steamed, looks presentable, and is displayed nicely.

☺️ Roseann is funny, kind, and joyful. Thank you to Roseann, for all she does to support our work, helping our neighbors in need.
