CORE Foundation

CORE Foundation ignites and supports charitable projects that address societal needs, build community, and enable positive change.

After receiving a request for support, we set up a meeting to understand the vision of the individual or the issue the organization faces. Once the CORE Foundation reviews and selects the individual or organization as a organization, a plan is put in place to help them achieve their goals. The foundation helps them identify support for their plan, contributes resources to get started, helps them market their initiative and provides an infrastructure that improves the individual or organization’s chance for success. As a 501(c)3 organization with a reputation of helping others, our organizations immediately benefit from the relationships we have built in the community.

Why do we golf? 🏌️

Because behind every CORE Cause is a changemaker with a great idea for their community but not quite enough resources to make it real.

CORE Foundation exists to close that gap. We give local nonprofits the tools, mentorship, network, and infrastructure they need to turn an idea into real, lasting impact. But we can only do that work with support like yours — and that's exactly what the Fore CORE Golf Classic makes possible.

Every foursome, every sponsorship, every dollar helps a CORE Cause get off the ground. Join us November 10 at The Golf Club at Lansdowne — because good ideas deserve a real shot.

Twenty-five years ago today, our country witnessed unimaginable loss — and an unforgettable response, as ordinary people ran toward those in need.

Today, we pause to remember, and to honor everyone — then and now — who shows up for their community.

That’s a wrap on August! 🎉
This month, we celebrated National Nonprofit Day, cheered on The Green Lizard Foundation’s Gran Fondo, laughed with Resonance Improv Alliance’s Sillygander, and supported changemakers doing good work every day. Thank you for being part of it.
We also said goodbye to Dolly Parton — a country music icon, yes, AND one of the most generous philanthropists of our time. Her work through the Imagination Library and beyond touched millions of lives and inspired so many of us in the nonprofit world. Her legacy of giving will live on. 💛
On to September. 🚀

Still riding the high from this weekend's Gran Fondo. 🚴💛

Thank you to The Green Lizard Foundation, every rider, every volunteer, and every donor who made it happen. This is exactly why fiscal sponsorship exists — so events like this can happen without a single ounce of red tape getting in the way. Well done, all around.

Happy National Nonprofit Day! 🎉

Today we're celebrating every changemaker, board member, volunteer, and behind-the-scenes staff member making the nonprofit world run. At CORE Foundation, our mission is to make it easier for good ideas to become real, structured, sustainable nonprofit work.

To every project — CORE Cause — in our network: thank you for showing up for your communities. We see you, and we're honored to support you. 💛

Consider this your nudge for today: volunteer an hour, donate a few dollars, or share a mission you believe in with someone else. Small stuff still counts. 🌱

🚣 Float, don't sink! Cardboard, tape, and a whole lot of laughs 😂

We're proud to spotlight one of our incredible CORE Causes, Resonance Improv Alliance, as they take their creativity from the stage to the water! 🎭➡️🌊

Resonance Improv is sponsoring a vessel in this year's Cardboard Boat Regatta, and let's say their teamwork and "structural engineering" skills are about to be put to the ultimate test (no pressure, crew 😅).

📍 Lake Anne Plaza
🗓️ Saturday, August 8
⏰ 1:00 PM
💵 FREE community event hosted by the Reston Museum

Come cheer on our brave — and buoyant (fingers crossed 🤞) — crew! Whether they float triumphantly or take an early swim, we guarantee it'll be an afternoon of community, laughter, and pure Reston charm. Bring your friends, family, and best boat puns. ⛵😆

See you at the water's edge! 💙

Ever wonder how a great idea becomes a real, functioning charitable project? 🌱
That's where we come in. CORE Foundation is a fiscal sponsor — we give changemakers the legal and financial backbone (nonprofit status, compliance, admin support) so they can focus on what they do best: building something good.
No red tape. No reinventing the wheel. Just guidance, structure, and belief in your vision.
Curious if fiscal sponsorship is right for your project?

What a race day! 🏊🚴🏃💙

This past weekend, 250 young athletes took on the Reston Youth Triathlon at Ridge Heights Pool — and they gave it absolutely everything. Every stroke, every pedal, every stride was a win. The smiles at the finish line said it all. 🎉

None of this magic happens without an incredible community behind it. Huge thanks to:

🙌 Our amazing volunteers, who showed up early, stayed late, and cheered every single athlete across the finish line

💙 Our generous sponsors and donors, whose support makes this event possible year after year

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The families who came out to cheer, and the athletes who inspired us all with their courage and heart

🏊🚴🏃 And of course, our 250 young triathletes — you are the reason we do this!

Thank you to everyone who made race day unforgettable. We can't wait to do it all again next year!
