CORE Foundation ignites and supports charitable projects that address societal needs, build community, and enable positive change.

After receiving a request for support, we set up a meeting to understand the vision of the individual or the issue the organization faces. Once the CORE Foundation reviews and selects the individual or organization as a organization, a plan is put in place to help them achieve their goals. The foundation helps them identify support for their plan, contributes resources to get started, helps them m

arket their initiative and provides an infrastructure that improves the individual or organization’s chance for success. As a 501(c)3 organization with a reputation of helping others, our organizations immediately benefit from the relationships we have built in the community.

With just days until the 2026 Reston Sprint Triathlon, we're reflecting on what makes this race so special — and it's not just the athletes. It's the volunteers who line every corner, cheer every person, and make race day unforgettable.

Here's what one of our incredible volunteers had to say after last year's race:

“Seeing runners smile and high-five as they came up that grueling hill — many of them shouting they look forward to our corner every year — is why I do this. And the 84-year-old coming up with a smile? Absolutely inspirational. I can't wait for next year!”

Founded by South Lakes High School students, Yuniverse Foundation uses creativity and connection to help youth develop their talents through sports, camps, and community events. Their mission? To make every kid more comfortable in their own skin. 💪

Every finish line has a story that’s about more than just the race. 🏊🚴🏃

For almost 20 years, the Reston Sprint Triathlon has helped CORE Foundation drive real change in our community. Athletes spend months training. Volunteers show up before dawn. Sponsors support more than just their logo on a banner.

The result? Funding CORE Causes to provide food for hungry kids, help families facing childhood cancer, and provide underresourced youth access to sports and performing art.

This is our approach: we unite the community around something they love and use that energy to make a lasting difference for neighbors who need it most.

Behind every great cause are even greater people. 💛

May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month — and there is no better time to shine a light on the incredible humans who show up for families when they need it most.

We're proud to spotlight Gloria and Scott Sweeney and the amazing volunteers of Evan's Golden Heart Foundation, who poured their time, heart, and spirit into the inaugural Golden Heart Gala this past February.

Evan's Golden Heart Foundation supports families facing childhood brain cancer — reminding them they are not alone through financial support, moments of joy for children in treatment, and hope for tomorrow through DIPG research funding.

Their dedication and laughter in these photos say everything. Events come and go — but the relationships and impact built in rooms like that one? Those last.

Meet The Green Lizard Foundation (TGLF) — one of our incredible CORE Causes. Built on the belief that every young person should be able to lead a healthy, active lifestyle regardless of financial circumstances. TGLF supplies bicycles, parts, nutrition, and learning opportunities to underserved youth right here in our local community.

Their hearts beat for bikes and kids. Our mission is to handle the rest. 💚🚲
