The Reston Chorale mourns the passing of the legendary Dolly Parton, a remarkable artist whose music has been woven into our shared lives for generations. We were honored to sing several of her beloved songs over the years, including 9 to 5, Jolene, and Light of a Clear Blue Morning.

Dolly's gifts as a brilliant musician, songwriter, performer, and storyteller touched millions around the world. Her influence reached far beyond country music, and her generosity extended even further through initiatives like the Imagination Library, which has placed books into the hands of millions of children and families across the globe.

We remember her today through the music we sang together. In Light of a Clear Blue Morning, she wrote:

“Cause I can see the light of a clear blue morning
I can see the light of a brand new day
I can see the light of a clear blue morning
Oh and everything's gonna be all right
It's gonna be okay.”
