In this MTLT Focus (6-8) article, the context of fire and ice are used to introduce positive and negative .

The planet’s initial temperature is 0, and each player takes a turn laying either fire or ice cards on the planet. As the temperature gets closer to their goal, they need to determine the best card to either add or remove from the planet to reach their temperature (e.g., 24 – 3 ice = 27 degrees, like in the introduction) while avoiding their opponents’ temperatures.
