The workforce pipeline is one of the most talked-about challenges for the nuclear medicine field. We asked Annual Meeting attendees: how would you “pitch” your job to someone who may be interested in entering the field? And what was your “aha” moment when you knew that nuc med was the job for you?

Apply now for a $100,000 research grant opportunity!

ILC, also known as lobular breast cancer, represents 15% of all breast cancer diagnoses annually in the US and is the second most common histologic subtype of breast cancer, afflicting nearly 44,000 new people each year. This grant aims to fund a research project focused on advancing ILC imaging and cultivating new lobular breast disease treatments to improve patient outcomes.

A successful clinical trial hinges on everything going right — from correctly calibrated equipment to a study’s compliance with rules and regulations to patient enrollment and safety. It requires dozens of people coming together to navigate these challenges, and though there have been many successful trials, barriers remain. SNMMI’s Clinical Trials Network (CTN) aims to reduce these roadblocks, connect key decision-makers, and expedite getting trials off the ground. Because patients’ lives depend on it.
