Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, and we’re celebrating the people and partnerships that make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

At New Life Discovery Project, our dedicated Crisis Team works alongside trusted partners like Community Behavioral Health to help individuals navigate difficult moments and connect with the mental health support they need.

True community care isn’t something any one organization can provide alone. It is built through relationships, collaboration, and a shared commitment to meeting people where they are.

A special thank you to our Crisis Team Dominique and James, The Redding med staff, Nate from Community Behavioral Health for being part of this important mission and making it fun!

Together, we are creating connections, building hope, and reminding people that they matter. 💚

There’s no place like a team that shows up.

New Life Discovery Project was proud to have a table at the FaithWorks event—and apparently, nobody believed in undercommitting to the Wizard of Oz theme.

We also have a few team updates to celebrate:

Jason has joined NLDP as a new case manager. Henry serves as our case management supervisor, and Nikki Kauffman is stepping into her new role as operations director.

We’re grateful for opportunities like FaithWorks that allow us to connect with the community, share our work and introduce the people helping make it happen.

Help us welcome Jason and Nikki to their new roles!

Apparently, our team heard “Spirit Week” and was committed!

We’re a little late sharing the photographic evidence, but our teams had a great time celebrating with flannel, fall colors, sports gear, twin looks and some truly committed hair choices.

The matching outfits were solid. The mustache may deserve its own employee badge.

Spirit Week gave everyone a chance to laugh, connect and show a little personality while continuing to do the work that matters.

Thank you to everyone who joined in—and especially to the people who remembered to take pictures.

Which Spirit Week theme should we bring back next year?

A thank-you years in the making.

A few years ago, Rod attended Recovery Happens at an important point in his life.

That day, a man Rod didn’t know came alongside him and offered a meaningful moment of support involving an eagle feather. Rod never forgot him—and he has been in recovery ever since.

This year, one of our team members recognized the man from Rod’s description and brought them back together.

His name is Art.

The hug captured in this photo was Rod finally getting the chance to thank him.

Recovery is built through moments like this: one person showing up for another, sometimes without ever knowing how much that moment will matter.

Our new New Life Discovery Project canopy made its debut at Recovery Happens, but Rod and Art gave us the moment we’ll remember.

If you or someone you love needs support, reach out to New Life Discovery Project. Recovery happens—and you don’t have to do it alone.

Sometimes the best way to serve our clients is to learn who else is ready to stand beside them.

The Salvation Army recently joined our all-staff meeting to share how its programs and resources can benefit the people we serve at New Life Discovery Project.

We also learned about opportunities for our team to give back, including bell ringing and helping with Stuff the Bus. Now we’re exploring the idea of an NLDP volunteer night—because supporting our community should occasionally come with matching aprons and a little friendly competition.

Thank you to the Salvation Army team for spending time with us and helping us better understand how we can work together.
