🌿 Field Friday! 🌿

Rain or shine, our Lands Team is out in the field doing the work that makes conservation possible!

On field days like these, our Lands Committee visits potential conservation projects to get to know the land firsthand. They look at wildlife habitat, native plants, waterways, working lands, important natural resources, and other conservation values that help us understand what makes each property special and worth protecting.

We’re so grateful for the time and expertise our team brings to this work and for your support that helps make it all possible! 💚

Winning bidders will be announced at the end of the evening!

We would like to sincerely thank the amazing local businesses and friends who contributed to this year’s auction items. Every dollar we raise goes to supporting Shasta Land Trust’s work to protect the lands that make Northern California so special.

Last week’s stargazing event was out of this world! 🌌✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Starlight Social! There’s something special about gathering under a wide-open sky — sharing good food, learning about the stars, and experiencing together the beauty of a place worth protecting. 🌠

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts — Rod & Joyce Evans, Amy Pendergast, Wendy Sanders, and Mark Wood — for all the care they put into the evening (and the delicious food!).

We’re also so grateful to the Shasta Astronomy Club for sharing their knowledge, telescopes, and love of the cosmos with us, and to the McConnell Foundation for welcoming us to beautiful Gore Ranch.

Evenings like this are a wonderful reminder that protecting land isn’t just about conserving acres — it’s about making sure beautiful, open places like Gore Ranch are here for people to experience, appreciate, and enjoy for generations to come. 💫

Behind every great leadership program is a group of alumni who refuse to stop showing up.

This week, the 2026–2027 Leadership Redding Steering Committee gathered for our kickoff meeting and began planning for another incredible year of developing leaders, building connections, and strengthening our community.

A special thank you to Paul and the team at Shasta Land Trust for graciously hosting us and helping us start the year on the right foot.

Leadership Redding doesn’t end at graduation. Our alumni continue to invest their time, experience, and passion to help shape the future of the program—and ultimately, the future of our community.

Here’s to a great year ahead.

What does a day in the life of land monitoring look like? 🌿🚗

Hiking protected properties, documenting changes, finding perfect lunch spots, and spotting wildlife along the way 🐢. Every monitoring trip reminds us why protecting these places matters. 💚

*When encountering wildlife in the field, observe from a respectful distance unless you are professionally trained.
