When God touches your heart, it changes how you see yourself—and how you live.

In 1 Samuel 10, valiant men went with Saul because God had touched their hearts. My prayer is that God would touch your heart with the ways of royalty, that you would begin to see yourself as someone seated in heavenly places with Christ.

There is a commissioning, an anointing, and a gift on your life. As you recognize who you are in Him, you can begin to walk in the courage and responsibility of that calling.

May God touch your heart today and give you a deeper understanding of who He has created you to be.

Growing in hearing God takes a willingness to take a risk. You have to be willing to act on what you believe He’s saying, even while you’re still learning to recognize His voice.

But you don’t have to start with a life-changing decision! Start with a small risk that matches the level of faith you have.

You may get it wrong sometimes. That’s part of learning. A low-risk step gives you room to practice without putting yourself under pressure to make a major decision.

As you grow in recognizing His voice, your confidence to follow His leading grows too.

‭‭This is such a beautiful and prophetic time in the life of the church. These verses helped lead through a dark season. I hope they encourage you.

God is making the crooked places straight in His Church because He is preparing us for where we’re going.

You can have a lot wrong with a car and still drive it. You can have less wrong with a plane and still fly it. But a rocket headed to the moon cannot afford even a faulty O-ring.

The farther you’re going, the more those details matter.

I believe God is accelerating revelation and inviting us to walk in greater spiritual wisdom—the mind of Christ. And with that invitation comes a call to another level of righteousness.

As He reveals more of His heart, we must allow Him to shape more of our lives. We cannot expect to carry greater revelation while holding on to the things He is asking us to surrender.

Where God is taking us, unrighteousness cannot take us there.

I’m not afraid of AI.

But I do think we’re entering a time where there will be an incredible famine for wisdom in the middle of an abundance of knowledge.

We have access to more information than any generation before us.

But more knowledge doesn’t automatically produce more wisdom.

And I believe people are going to become tired of knowledge without wisdom—and they’re going to start looking for God.

This is why learning to access the mind of Christ matters.

We don’t just need more information.

We need the wisdom of God.

Inspired Thinking

How do I inspire my mind to think in a way that’s creative, innovative and revelatory?

Things that steal inspiration:
-Worry
-Fear
-Depression
-Boredom
-Watching the news.
-Listening to people complain.
-Complaining myself.
-Unbelief

Things that put my imagination to sleep:
-Entertainment
-Watching sports
-Watching TV
-Small talk
-Video games
-Scrolling through social pages.

Things that inspire my mind to be creative:
-Exposing myself to challenges that need solutions.
-Reading about great people and the things they accomplished.
-Dialoguing with inspiring people.
-Writing in a way that requires me to paint with words.
-Writing about things I haven’t completely figured out.
-Researching ideas.
-Watching documentaries.
-Externally processing with other smart people.
-Listening to great teaching.
-Being on a Q&A panel.

Prayer
-Asking God about His thoughts on various subjects; how things work, why He created specific things, why certain people behave the way they do, etc.
-Imagining the future in partnership with Jesus.
-Dreaming with the Holy Spirt.
-Making time to listen to the Lord with no agenda- allowing Jesus to dictate the narrative.
-Reading the Bible while imagining the stories in my mind or imagining the various authors teaching me as I sit at their feet and listen.
-Asking the Holy Spirit about various Bible characters personalities; what were they like, how did they behave, what inspired them, etc.

Testimonies
-Listening to God stories inspires me to believe Jesus for more in my life.

Music
-Great music especially worship.

It is easy to maintain peace when everything is going well, but our foundation is tested and strengthened when life gets hard.

In my book Just Stand, I share how God can use our hardest seasons to build maturity, perseverance, and compassion. What you learn in the storm today can help someone else walk through theirs tomorrow.

Have you ever said:

“Well, all we can do now is pray.”

Think about what we’re actually saying.

We tried everything we knew how to do first…and now we’re going to ask God.

In other words, we used SQ last.

We can become so accustomed to solving problems through our experience, education, intelligence, and resources that we never learn to build a pathway to the wisdom of God.

Paul was brilliant. Yet he intentionally refused to put confidence in his own brilliance because he didn’t want people’s faith resting on the wisdom of men.

He wanted it resting on the power of God.

What if prayer wasn’t what we did after we ran out of options?

Be honest: is your instinct usually to pray first or figure it out first?

One of the things that captured my heart about Kathy was that she believed in me. Being with her brought out the best in me.

After 51 years of marriage, I’m grateful we’re still learning, laughing, and sharing life together.

Love has to become more than a feeling. It’s choosing to stay committed through difficult seasons, forgive one another, and work through conflict without turning against each other.
