🚨 Now is not the time to roll back protections from toxic chemicals.
Reports indicate the Senate could begin advancing legislation to weaken our nation’s laws as soon as this month.
The Toxic Substances Control Act ( ) helps protect people from toxic chemicals linked to cancer, infertility, asthma, learning disabilities, Parkinson’s disease, and harm to developing babies. Congress should protect these health safeguards, not weaken them.

And that’s a wrap for Toxic Roots of the . For a day and half, we discussed the legacy and impact of the semiconductor industry in Oregon, across the country, and abroad. In particular, we discussed opportunities to join forces and call on big tech industries to be accountable to the workers that build the backbone of the supply chain and the local communities and ecosystems that will be directly impacted.
We had:
- Over 30 speakers from , across the county and abroad
- 30 local event partners
- Nearly 200 participants and
- Hundreds of powerful conversations

South Korean artist and award-winning filmmaker Eunhee Lee joined us for the US premiere of her documentary, Colorless, Odorless on Wednesday, June 3rd to kick off the Toxic Roots of the conference.

Centering the lived experiences of Asian women and migrant workers, the film exposes the health hazards faced by communities working in and living near manufacturing industries.
