Four years ago, the was passed to bring manufacturing back to the US. Billions of our taxpayer dollars have since gone to chip companies, but what local communities received in returned?

Check out this op-ed written by Jennifer Martin-McLeod, Sierra Club - Grand Canyon (Arizona) Chapter's water policy expert.

"Experts in other fields are sounding the alarm on energy costs, air quality, noise and the strain of subsidized growth on schools and hospitals. What I know is water, and what I can tell you is that Arizona is squandering its most finite resource on commitments no one is keeping. Four years ago, Americans were promised that chip manufacturing would be built responsibly. Arizona shouldn't bear the burden of a mess Washington swore it wouldn't make."

Four years after the CHIPS Act promised responsible chip manufacturing, Arizona's water is paying the price and state agencies aren't keeping up.
