A good idea can begin in a single classroom. But what happens when educators have the opportunity to learn from it together?

At our Early School Success Back-to-School Kickoff, educators and district leaders from Beaverton School District (Beaverton School District), Forest Grove School District (Forest Grove School District), and St. Helens School District (St. Helens School District 502) came together for a day of shared learning. They explored research, reflected on practice, and considered what different approaches could mean in their schools.

Each year, the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading’s (Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (CGLR)) GLR Week brings together educators, advocates, and community leaders to advance children’s early school success.

Long before a child enters a classroom, the foundations for literacy are already taking shape through relationships, language, culture, and everyday experiences. Tomorrow, our Early Literacy Specialist, Erin Lolich, will lead a webinar exploring how developmentally appropriate practice, culturally responsive teaching, and the science of literacy can work together to support young readers.
