Meet Stumptown board member Harlie Hutchinson— Memberships Coordinator 👋

Here is her disc golf story in her own words:

I started playing disc golf during 2020 in Denver, Colorado (RIP Bailey Disc Golf Course ☹). I then moved to Bend, OR in 2023 and started going to the Ladies of Central Oregon (LOCO) league. There, I fell in love with the community they built for women of all skill levels. I got to play a lot of disc golf with Sally West, who is not only a pillar of the Oregon women’s disc golf community, but who also ignited my passion for tournaments.

I played my first sanctioned tournament in 2023 in Sisters for the Women Series and traveled over the mountain for a few other stops throughout the year. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on tournaments, making space for women in this sport and building community.

I moved to Portland at the beginning of 2026 and joined Stumptown shortly after. I look forward to welcoming new members, checking in with current members and keeping membership information organized and up to date. I would like to focus on a positive and inclusive experience to ensure members feel connected to the club and its mission.

Humans thrive with a community and Stumptown Disc Golf is an amazing community!

Meet Stumptown board member Topher Hunt — Director of Community Engagement! 👋

We’ll let him tell you a bit about his life in disc golf:

I’ve been playing disc golf for the last 6 years, I recently started playing MPO events and cashed for my first time. I am extremely passionate about disc golf and love participating in local leagues and even a couple in Idaho.

I’m really looking forward to voulnteering at all of the major disc golf events this summer, engaging with the community, and trying to share all of the awesome things that Stumptown does throughout the community.

This is my first year on the Stumptown board so I’m excited to find out all of the ways I can participate and contribute throughout the disc golf community in growing the sport.

Meet board member Jamison Holtz— Treasurer 👋

Jamison served on the Stumptown Board of Directors from 2016-2020 and rejoined in 2026! Jamison started playing ultimate frisbee when he was 13 years old but has loved playing catch with frisbees his whole life. He discovered disc golf when he was 18 years old and has been a PDGA member since 2012.

Jamison’s goal with Stumptown Disc Golf is to expand local courses, engage with the disc golf community, teach others about the game, and represent as a member of the board of directors as we continue to grow the sport.

Meet Board Member Greg Cormier who keeps us on task as the Stumptown Secretary! 👋

Greg is a transplant who moved to Portland in early 2020 after 10 years abroad. Formerly an avid climber, he left his quickdraws behind after finding disc golf—and more importantly, the disc golf community—in 2022.
He was drawn to how easy it is to show up and play, and how quickly the community welcomed him in. Having experienced that firsthand, he’s motivated to support the sport as it continues to grow into a space where others feel that same sense of belonging.

Meet our next board member, Riley Murray — Director of Education 👋

Riley began serving on the board in 2023 as Community Engagement Officer with the goal of increasing engagement (specifically by women) within the club and our disc golf community as a whole. She ran the first ever women’s Slosh event which inspired new female Stumptown memberships.

Riley brought a revival of our social media presence to inform the public of upcoming Stumptown events, volunteer and work parties, and opportunities to get involved with local disc golf projects.

This year as the Director of Education, her efforts are being invested in developing and implementing opportunities for juniors. She is running the premier Oregon High School Disc Golf Championship and a juniors only event, as well as helping to develop the Oregon Juniors Series. She is also helping to organize a community coaching event with Uplay Disc Golf and connecting with schools to propel disc golf education into PE curriculums.

Riley plays events throughout the year in the FPO division and loves to travel and play new courses, making friends along the way! Say hi when you see her!

Next up in our Meet the Board series is Matt Kelly, our Director of Technology. 👋

Matt has been playing disc golf since 1990 (and claims he’ll figure out putting at some point). He joined Stumptown in 2009 and served as Membership Director from 2012–2017. As the longest serving Stumptown board member, Matt is able to provide the rest of us with invaluable historical perspective and context about what the club has done in the past.

He maintains the UDisc maps for the Milo courses and stepped into the Social Media Manager role in 2021. Today, as Director of Technology, he oversees the club’s (soon to be overhauled) website, Facebook presence, and various other tech systems that keep Stumptown connected and running smoothly.
