Congratulations to our PILOT (Pan-Immigrant Leadership and Organizing Training) 2026 graduates! 🎉

We had such an impactful, incredible summer that we spent with you as we built a cohort of amazing leaders who are committed to organizing to make Oregon a better, more just place.

Immigrant organizers are at the forefront of the movement towards justice in Oregon, and we can’t wait to see what lies ahead for each of our PILOT graduates.

Eugene, let’s invest in clean energy, green jobs, and climate resilience—not corporate greed.

We need your help to get the Eugene Clean Energy Fund (ECEF) on the November ballot! 🗳️

✨ ECEF would create an estimated $15 million annually by placing a small fee on the profits of billion-dollar corporations to fund:
🌱 Climate justice projects
👷 Green jobs & workforce training
🏘️ Stronger, more resilient neighborhoods
❤️ Healthier communities through environmental justice

📣 We need 4,000 more signatures by July 21 to reach our goal!

✍️ Volunteer to collect signatures or sign the petition yourself.

Join us tomorrow night at L’Atelier Yaffe, Black-Owned PDX Cafe, Arts & Event Space for our next film night and dialogue featuring the film “Come Back, Africa.” 🎬

Filmed in secret in 1950s Johannesburg, this landmark film follows a young Zulu man navigating apartheid’s crushing systems to provide for his family. Director Lionel Rogosin embedded himself in Sophiatown, a thriving Black cultural center later razed by the state to build a whites-only suburb and worked with a largely nonprofessional cast, including activist and singer Miriam Makeba. The result is an unflinching look at state violence, and the community power that rose up against it.

🚨 Our safety doesn't come from surveillance. It comes from investing in our communities. 🏘️

📢 Calling all Beaverton residents: The Beaverton City Council needs to hear from YOU as it decides the next budget. The general fund is your tax dollars at work, and community voices matter.

⏱️ When: Tuesday, June 16th at 6:00 p.m.
📍Where: Beaverton City Hall, 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97005 or virtual

Instead of spending more of our tax dollars on state surveillance and already oversized police budgets, we can invest in what actually keeps us safe:

🏠 Affordable housing
⚡ Climate justice
🏫 Good schools
💼 Family-supporting jobs
🌳 Parks and green spaces
🩺 Healthcare
🚑 Rapid response services
🚶 Livable cities where everyone has what they need to thrive

✍️ Sign up to testify in person or submit written testimony to make sure the budget reflects community safety, belonging, and care—not more surveillance.

🔗 Register to testify: https://beavertonoregon-city.app.transform.civicplus.com/forms/40886
🎤 Live oral testimony requires pre-registration.
📧 Can't attend in person? Submit written comments at least 24 hours before the meeting to: [email protected]
