If you’re going to Lafayette for Festivals Acadiens this year, here’s a note from Bunny Fite:

“Please share with folks you know in Portland, Seattle, and the west coast who may be traveling to Lafayette for festival Acadian, that Dick Brainard’s celebration of life here is on October 8, 2026 at Feed n Seed. That’s the Thursday evening prior to the festival, which starts on Friday. Horace Trahan is playing at Dick’s celebration, and the music starts at eight. We all plan to be there around six to celebrate Dick’s life. 💕💕👍” Please bring an appetizer if you can.

Many thanks to Portland Blues and Jazz Society for the great collaboration last night at Hoku! We had a fun lesson with Ken and Chere, 14 of our CZ members attended with about 36 of the blues dance community joining us. We are so excited about this partnership and look forward to another Zydeco/blues night on Tuesday October 27.
