Gabby (left) and Stanley are adult males in Jacky's group of 15. Both can be very serious at times with their dominance displays and quest for alpha, but they are also very sweet, sensitive guys with huge hearts. ❤ ❤

Mum Carla and almost two-year-old Amaia make their way out of the forest for snack and water. Rain or shine, our chimpanzee residents spend their days in acres of protected forest habitat.

Utah (pronounced oo-tah) greets alpha make Xeko (pronounced zee-ko) with breathy pants and a big sweet smile!

It is especially heartwarming to see these two chimps joyful and well-integrated in their group. Both have overcome social and emotional obstacles and we are so proud of them.

Amaia leads the way!

Sweet Amaia has officially entered her birth month! She turns two years old on June 24th and everyone loves her so much. She has aunties and uncles and spends her day exploring the forest enclosure she calls home. While her birth happened accidentally at our sanctuary, we are so grateful she has joined our family because we know she, her mum and her group are forever safe from poaching and illegal trafficking.
