Come join us as we enjoy the Centennial Trail in Snohomish on Thursday, June 18!

We will begin meeting around 11 AM at the Snohomish Library. We’ll connect there, discuss the day and head out to the trail promptly at noon. We are excited to connect with like minded individuals and explore this beautiful trail. We generally travel around 5 mph, which is generally the speed of the slower wheelchairs.

We will head off North from Snohomish and travel over 12 miles to the Getchell Trailhead. We will then shuttle back to the Snohomish Library and enjoy some food, drink and good company at the Trails End Restaurant. If 12 miles is more than you'd like to do, we will have a shuttle that could pick you up at the 2 mile mark or the 8 mile mark. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Denise Smith-Irwin will be leading the ride and you can direct any questions to her email [email protected]

Other things to consider
☂ Plan for weather, bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, jacket/sweater or raingear.
📱Consider cell phone coverage, should be pretty good for this route.
❤ Consider your range, can you make ~13 miles? Should you catch a trailhead shuttle?
🚌 We understand transportation can be a major obstacle. If you’re interested in joining and getting there is a problem, please let us know we may be able to help arrange something.
⏰ We leave promptly at noon and travel ~5 mph.

Come join us at Barhop Brewing & Artisan Pizza in Sequim from 4-5:30 PM on the first Thursday of every month to connect with others living with physical disabilities.

It’s a great opportunity to come chat with other folks with paralysis who reside on the peninsula and beyond. This meeting is organized through the The Here and Now Project in collaboration with Ian’s Ride.

PLEASE NOTE: H&NP Support Meetings are strictly for people living with paralysis and their immediate families and caregivers, and not for public or private enterprise.

Proud to support such a great organization 💚

We’re grateful for the generous donation from Ian’s Ride in support of the Foothills Trail. Their work is a powerful reminder that trails should be places where everyone can move, connect, and belong.

We’re committed to expanding, maintaining, and advocating for a trail system that is accessible and inclusive for people of all ages and abilities from Mount Rainier to Puget Sound and thank Ian’s Ride for helping move that vision forward - and embracing a classic PNW rainy day with us!

If you're looking for something to do Friday afternoon/early evening, come on by the Edmonds library at 4:30 PM where Ian and author Karen Polinsky will be talking about Ian’s book for an hour or so. Should be a fun time and Ian would love to see you there!

Accessibility matters. Inclusion matters. Technology should help more people experience the world — not leave them behind.

We love seeing companies continue to invest in features that help create more independence, connection, and accessibility for people of all abilities. Apple recently announced new accessibility updates powered by Apple Intelligence, including improvements to VoiceOver, Magnifier, live captions, and more.

At Ian’s Ride, this mission hits close to home. Every step forward in accessibility helps create a world that’s easier to navigate, participate in, and enjoy for everyone. 💙

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) — a day that encourages all of us to think about accessibility, inclusion, and creating a world that works better for everyone.

At Ian’s Ride, accessibility isn’t just a conversation for one day. It’s part of why we ride.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience connection, community, adventure, and joy — regardless of ability. Whether that means improving access to events, creating more inclusive spaces, or simply listening and learning from one another, every step forward matters.

More than one billion people worldwide live with disabilities, and awareness leads to action. 💙

Today, we encourage our community to continue learning, advocating, and helping build a world where everyone feels seen, included, and supported.

This Thursday! Are you joining us?

We will begin meeting around 11 AM at Legendary Donuts - 212 Washington Ave. S., Orting, WA. We’ll enjoy a coffee and a snack for an hour and then head out on the trail promptly at noon.

We will head off from Orting heading northeast for about 12 miles to Buckley where we generally enjoy Wally's Drive In for some delicious food. If 12 miles is more than you'd like to ride, we will have a shuttle that could pick you up at the 3 mile mark or the 7 1/2 mile mark.
