IMPORTANT PSA ABOUT OUR SOCIAL MEDIA:

The main reason for our social media presence has always been to share information about 4PA with our community and supporters. Our pictures and updates have been an effort to invite you into our operations.

We are dedicated to continuing this practice but will be making some changes you may notice. Moving forward, our primary platform for sharing this information will be our email newsletter. For TINY HOME TUESDAY we’d like to address why we’re building “transitional” housing and not “permanent”? It’s a fair question.

The Touchstone Campus isn’t meant to be the last stop, but a fresh beginning. We believe lasting change doesn’t happen immediately, so we’re building a place where people have room to breathe, get support, and build the kind of stability that sticks.

It’s gradually becoming a place to reset, develop healthy routines, and pick up skills that open doors in the workforce. Self-sufficiency isn’t just about having a roof, but also the tools to keep that roof over your head long after you’ve moved on from us.

We all know affordable housing is not getting easier to find so we look at Touchstone as a bridge - one that gets people closer to independent housing, whatever that looks like for them.

For some, that’s their own apartment. For others, it’s reconnecting with family or landing steady work that changes everything.

Transitional doesn’t mean temporary in the sense of “just passing through.” It means purposefully moving our residents forward so they don’t need us anymore.

That’s always been the goal🌿

For TINY HOME TUESDAY we’d like to thank a generous community member for donating items from their estate.

Although we are only able to take limited items at this time while working on completing our common facility, we were grateful to get a picnic table and BBQ for one of our outdoor areas😉

These touches really make a difference as we aim to create spaces to hang out and share a meal. It’s such a big part of a community!

It’s safe to say we wouldn’t have the majority of our TINY HOME TUESDAY updates without this year’s Golden Bucket winner Kurt Nicpon!

He earned our volunteer-of-the-year award for 2025 because of his ongoing dedication to our mission. Kurt has not only volunteered countless hours of labor and planning, but also uses his decades of construction experience to continue to tackle the renovation of our 80+ year old building.

This is no small task considering almost every square inch requires some level of attention to make it safe and up to code.

We can’t imagine where we’d be without Kurt, but it certainly wouldn’t be as far along as we are now! Thank you simply isn’t enough, but hopefully the Golden Bucket is👏
