Please celebrate safely, look out for one another, and lets help our firefighters by being responsible this 4th of July holiday.

As we get ready to celebrate Independence Day, Fire District 3 would like to recognize National Wildland Firefighter Day and the incredible men and women who work to protect our communities, forests, and open spaces.

Fireworks may be part of the holiday tradition, but they can also spark fast-moving brush and wildland fires, especially during dry summer conditions. We ask everyone to celebrate responsibly and help keep our community safe.

Before using fireworks:
• Check local laws and burn restrictions
• Never use fireworks in dry grass, brush, or wooded areas
• Keep a hose, bucket of water, or extinguisher nearby
• Soak used fireworks completely before throwing them away
• Never allow children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision
• Consider attending a public fireworks show instead

A single spark can start a wildfire. Please do your part to help prevent fires, protect homes, and support the firefighters who stand ready to respond.

🚨🔎 Search & Rescue Recognition Week 🔎🚨

This week, as proclaimed by Governor Bob Ferguson, we proudly recognize Search & Rescue Recognition Week across Washington State — and we want to give special thanks to the dedicated volunteers of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue Team.

Day or night. Rain or shine. Mountain, forest, river, or coastline — these highly trained volunteers answer the call when our community needs them most. From locating lost hikers and rescuing injured individuals in rugged terrain, to assisting with K9 rescues and supporting helicopter evacuations, their commitment saves lives.

Our SAR members devote countless hours to:
✅ Specialized training
✅ Emergency response readiness
✅ Community safety missions
✅ Multi-agency coordination
✅ Wilderness and technical rescue operations

They leave their homes and families at all hours to help complete strangers — often in the most difficult conditions imaginable.

Please join us in thanking the incredible men and women of Clallam County Search & Rescue for their professionalism, compassion, and unwavering service to our community. 👏

During long, demanding Search & Rescue missions, your support means more than words can express. The warmth of your meals brings not just nourishment, but comfort, morale, and a reminder of those out there quietly supporting making a big difference.

Big shout out from the SAR crew to the ladies that came to our 2/25 call out. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The Soup Ladies is a group of volunteers that feed first responders. We are a 501c3 non profit.
