# # # Sixth Annual Veteran Wreath and U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony Completed in Clallam County
**Clallam County, WA —** The Michael Trebert Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to announce the successful completion of its **6th Annual Veteran Wreath Retirement and U.S. Tattered Flag Retirement Ceremony**, held in 2025 at a local farm in Clallam County.
This year’s solemn and patriotic event honored the proper retirement of **1,360 veteran wreaths** and **1,900 worn and tattered United States flags** that had been respectfully collected throughout the year and turned in to the Northwest Veterans Resource Center.
The ceremonial retirement was organized and carried out by local youth organizations **Trail Life USA** and **Heritage Girls**, whose members demonstrated exceptional leadership, respect, and commitment to honoring our nation’s veterans and flag traditions.
Local veterans and community partners were present to further honor the ceremony, including members from **Carlsborg VFW Post #6787**, **Sequim American Legion Post 62**, and the **Port Angeles Elks Lodge #353 Riders**. Their presence added meaningful reverence and military tradition to the event.
More than **100 members of the public** attended and actively participated in the ceremony, joining together for the **Pledge of Allegiance**, the **National Anthem**, and a moving group rendition of **“God Bless America”** as the ceremonial burn took place. The large and carefully managed burn served as a powerful visual reminder of respect, sacrifice, and national unity.
The Michael Trebert Chapter DAR extends its sincere appreciation to the youth organizations, veterans’ groups, community partners, and attendees who made this year’s ceremony both impactful and dignified. The chapter remains committed to honoring veterans, promoting patriotism, and educating future generations on the respectful care and retirement of U.S. flags.
