Applications are now open for full-tuition scholarships to Oakland University's Nonprofit Management Certificate Program, thanks to the generous support of First State Bank Michigan and Consumers Energy.

Designed for nonprofit professionals with at least two years of experience, this 11-month program helps participants strengthen leadership, fundraising, governance, financial management, communications, and more.

Beaudette Park and the Mill Dam was full of life this weekend, with our city’s softball league games kicking off and our monthly fun run taking place. We also had the opening of our renovated park restrooms, and got new mulch laid.

Next weekend the park fun continues, including the annual Art Fish Fun Festival and the painting of a new park mural. Event details are here with the flyer.

We’re making progress for Pontiac’s parks every day! Please enjoy our public spaces, help keep them clean and free of litter, and report any park issues that you see.

On May 20th, Michigan Community Action held its Legislative Day and helped shed light on the growing need to help those in poverty. Dr. Susan Harding, OLHSA CEO and president of the Michigan Community Action Board, emphasized the importance of seeking assistance when you need it and discussed how people get stuck in the cycle of poverty. More than 13% of Michigan residents lived in poverty as of 2024, translating to more than 1 million people struggling to afford food, gas, and housing.
