Alliance for Housing is proud to serve as one of the lead agencies supporting regional housing planning efforts across Michigan.

As Michigan begins developing Statewide Housing Plan 2.0, community input is essential. Whether you are a renter, homeowner, housing provider, or community member, your experiences and perspectives can help shape housing priorities and solutions for the years ahead.

We encourage Oakland County residents and stakeholders to participate in the Michigan Statewide Housing Survey and share their thoughts on housing needs, challenges, and opportunities throughout our state.

We’re excited to be featured in this Metro Mode article highlighting efforts to support people experiencing homelessness and their pets through this important community partnership!

We are grateful to work alongside amazing partners helping remove barriers and keep people and pets together.

Pet owners who stay at an Oakland County homeless shelter this winter will be able to temporarily house their pets at the Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center, thanks to a new partnership between the Pontiac-based Alliance for Housing and the animal shelter.

The Alliance staff had the opportunity to attend the Michigan State Housing Development Authority Building Michigan Communities Conference! We are grateful for the chance to connect with partners from across the state, learn about innovative approaches, and continue strengthening our work to support individuals and families in our community.

Thank you to MSHDA for hosting such a valuable event and creating space for collaboration, learning, and growth. We’re excited to bring back new ideas and continue making an impact together!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Alliance for Housing Annual Retreat on May 6, 2026!

We were incredibly grateful to have 73 attendees come together for a day of collaboration, learning, and connection focused on strengthening our community’s housing response system.

A special thank you to all of our partners, presenters, and participants who shared their time, ideas, and passion for this work. Your commitment continues to move our mission forward.

Be sure to check out the photos from the retreat, especially our “Our Why” boards, where attendees shared the powerful reasons behind the work they do every day. It was truly inspiring to see the heart and dedication throughout the room.

Some of our Alliance for Housing team had the opportunity to attend MCAH Advocacy Day on April 21, 2026!

It was a great day at the Capitol connecting with partners from across the state, engaging with legislators, and advocating for policies that support individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We’re proud to stand alongside so many dedicated voices working toward stronger, more equitable housing solutions in our communities.
