Oakland Forward Action Fund is proud to be a part of the **CARE Coalition**, working alongside **Caring Across Generations** to advocate for the **Medicare at Home Act**.

Every family deserves the ability to make choices about how and where their loved ones receive care. The Medicare at Home Act would help expand access to home-based care, support family caregivers, and give more seniors and people with disabilities the opportunity to receive the care they need in the place they call home.

This is about dignity. This is about supporting families. And this is about making sure quality care is accessible to everyone—not just those who can afford it.

We have gotten word that Gov. Whitmer may opt in to Trump's (and Betsy Devos's) federal voucher scheme as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBA). This would allow up to $5 BILLION in public dollars to be used on private school funding. Our public schools are already hurting, and allowing private school vouchers into Michigan would decimate them.

Write Gov. Whitmer TODAY to tell her: oppose Trump and DeVos's federal voucher scheme - NO PUBLIC MONEY FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS.

Oakland Forward Action Fund would like to thank Commissioner Yolanda Smith-Charles for her leadership and support of the resolution opposing the proposed Michigan constitutional amendment that could disenfranchise Oakland County voters.

Today, the committee voted 5-2 to advance the resolution to the full Board of Commissioners for consideration.

We appreciate Commissioner Smith-Charles for standing up to protect every voter’s voice. Democracy is strongest when every eligible voter has a fair and equal opportunity to participate.

Oakland Forward Action Fund was happy to host the mini convening of the Fund MI Future coalition today. It was great to connect with advocates, organizers, and community leaders from across Michigan who are working to build a more equitable tax system and invest in the things that matter most—our children, families, schools, and communities. Together, we’re fighting for policies that create opportunity for everyone and ensure Michigan’s future works for all of us.

Looking forward to attending the forum on May 16th, hosted by End Gun Violence Michigan and Oakland Forward Action Fund, alongside the Governor candidates.

This is an important opportunity to have real conversations about public safety and the steps we can take to protect our communities. Grateful for the chance to listen, learn, and engage on an issue that impacts so many across our state.
