🎓 THIS IS WHAT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT LOOKS LIKE! 🔨💪🏿

Our Perry Street Empowerment pre-apprentices didn’t just sit in a classroom—they prepared for real careers.

During the program, our students:

✅ Earned OSHA 10 certifications
✅ Received lead-abatement training and licensing
✅ Learned carpentry and other hands-on construction skills
✅ Worked on active construction sites
✅ Completed career-readiness training
✅ Connected directly with developers and industry professionals

The results are already showing: some graduates are now working in union careers, while others have been hired by local construction companies.

Aiden’s success represents what our program is all about: preparing local residents with the skills, work ethic, and opportunities to launch careers in the skilled trades.

At Perry Street Empowerment, we’re building a career pipeline from Pontiac residents to the construction industry through partnerships with multiple union apprenticeship programs, contractors, and employers. PONTIAC HIGH SCHOOL GRADS (18-24) — READY TO BUILD A REAL CAREER?
This week, a Perry Street Empowerment apprentice put on a hard hat and safety vest and walked onto the site of the $300 million development happening right here in downtown Pontiac.
They stood next to County officials, including Megan Sellers, and Pontiac Council President Adrian Austin — not as a visitor, but as someone being trained for a real career in construction.
This is what’s possible when a Pontiac grad gets the right door opened for them.
Perry Street Empowerment trains Pontiac high school graduates, ages 18-24, for real careers in construction — not just a job, but a path to a skilled trade, a real paycheck, and a future you build with your own hands, literally.
No experience needed. We teach everything from the ground up.
If you:
✅ Graduated from a Pontiac high school
✅ Are between 18-24
✅ Need direction and a real path forward
✅ Want to earn real money doing real work
✅ Could use mentorship and hands-on training
We want to talk to you.
