I've spent days trying to find words big enough to describe Dr. Johnson and I've realized they don't exist. To know him was to experience something beyond description. We often talk about greatness in big terms, but with Dr. Johnson it was his quiet way he'd listened his vast knowledge and the steady strength of his friendship. If I spoke for a 100 years I still couldn't finish the story of what Dr. Johnson meant to Sankofa Village. So instead I'll just say this Dr. Johnson was like our North Star and Sankofa Village is a little dimmer without him.

What people don’t always realize is the blood, sweat, and tears that go into what we do. Our children work incredibly hard — physically, mentally, and emotionally — every single week. So singling out one child over another just doesn’t sit right with us.

We receive comments like this often, but what’s important to understand is that our kids are learning and growing together. They push one another, they support one another, and they succeed as a team. No one shines alone here — their light is built in community.

Every child in our Village is developing at their own pace, mastering new skills, building confidence, and stepping into leadership. We are proud of all of them equally.

We ask that when you show love, you show it to the entire group. That’s how we protect their hearts, their confidence, and the culture we work so hard to build. 💛✨

P.s…they read all your positive comments!❤️🖤💚
