Transparency Post ❤️

Getting adults to consistently show up for African Dance class has honestly been one of our biggest challenges.

We hear “I’m coming!” “I’ve been looking for a class!” “When are y’all having adult classes?” all the time. We try to listen. We create the classes, keep the prices accessible, welcome all levels, and do everything we can to make sure African dance is available to our community.

But then class time comes…and sometimes no one shows up.

And we want to be transparent: it’s really hard to keep an adult class going when there’s no consistent attendance. Our instructors still have to be compensated. Our space still has expenses. Our musicians deserve to be paid. And beyond the financial side, a lot of time, preparation, and love goes into making these classes happen.

We don’t want to stop offering adult African Dance. We WANT adults in our community dancing, moving, learning, connecting with the culture, and having a space that feels like home. ❤️

But we need the community to meet us halfway.

If you’ve been saying you want to come — COME! 😂❤️
If you’ve been nervous — COME!
If you think you need dance experience — YOU DON’T!
If you haven’t danced in 10 years — COME ANYWAY!

We’ll keep doing our part to make African Dance accessible. We just need people to actually walk through the door.

We want this class to stay. Help us keep it going. ❤️🌍
