That means Morgan students and researchers will have the tools to push the boundaries of:
-Artificial Intelligence-Cybersecurity-Climate & Environmental Science-Health Sciences-Large Language Models-Smart Cities & Urban Mobility
The collaboration is also part of Morgan’s push toward Carnegie R1 classification, the highest research activity designation in the Carnegie Classification.

In previous AI advancements, university has already developed its own Obsidian AI platform, designed to support research, workforce development and campus innovation while maintaining institutional control over governance, security and accountability.

The goal is to help pioneer a scalable model for HBCUs to build advanced computing and AI capabilities of their own.

In a press release on the website, Morgan’s CIO Dr. Timothy C. Summers stated, “For HBCUs, this moment is not about catching up. It is about leading.”
