Our crew members were hard at work installing trail drainage improvements at Quarry Field in South Side Park. These enhancements help protect the trails, improve accessibility, and reduce erosion, ensuring visitors can enjoy the park for years to come.

A big thank you to South Side Park PGH for their continued partnership and commitment to preserving and improving these valuable community spaces.

We're proud of our crew's dedication to building stronger, more sustainable outdoor environments while gaining hands-on experience and making a positive impact in our region.

Our first batch of lumber is officially out of the kiln!

Our Mill Operations Manager, Luke, loaded up the finished lumber and delivered it to Construction Junction, where it is now available for purchase.

This first run included eastern white pine and eastern red cedar in 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, and 1 1/2 inch thicknesses. We’re excited to begin with these species because they are ideal for fine tuning kiln operations while ensuring every step of the process is completed with care and precision.

Seeing this lumber move from the kiln to the marketplace marks a major milestone for our team as we continue expanding production capacity, strengthening our systems, and producing high quality local wood products.

Stop by Construction Junction to check it out and support locally processed lumber!

We’re halfway through Landforce’s Day of Giving, and there’s still time to make an impact.
One of the many people who understands the impact of this work firsthand is Al-Ghazali Jones. Al joined Landforce as a crew member in 2017 and now serves as a member of our Board of Directors. In support of today’s Day of Giving, he shared a letter reflecting on his journey and the role Landforce played in helping shape his path forward.

We encourage you to take a moment to read Al’s story and see what opportunity, support, and community investment can make possible.
Today, our staff and 2026 Spring Crew Members are celebrating the work and opportunities that Landforce helps create across our region. From trail restoration and conservation projects to workforce development and hands-on training, every part of this work is powered by community support.

Each donation helps provide paid work experience, mentorship, certifications, and pathways toward long term employment for crew members working toward a stronger future.

If you’ve been meaning to give, there’s still time to join us today and support the next season of opportunity at Landforce.

Landforce’s Day of Giving and the first day our graduates are on the job is here! Our board, staff, and 2026 Spring Crew Members are excited to come together with the broader Landforce community to celebrate the work, growth, and opportunities that your support makes possible.

Every day at Landforce, crew members are gaining hands-on experience, building skills, earning certifications, and creating pathways toward long term employment and stability. By joining our effort, you will help complete environmental projects across the region and real opportunities for people to move forward.

Monday, May 18, we’re coming together for Landforce’s Day of Giving to support the work, training, and opportunities that make our mission possible.

At Landforce, a new work season means more than projects getting underway. It means people gaining paid work experience, building valuable skills, earning industry certifications, and creating pathways toward long-term employment and stability.

Every season starts with opportunity, and community support helps make that opportunity possible.

From restoring trails and green spaces to preparing crew members for long-term careers, Landforce invests in people and communities at the same time. Over the years, we’ve seen how access to consistent work, mentorship, and support can help change the trajectory of someone’s life.

We hope you’ll join us on May 18 and help support the next season of opportunity.
