Last night, Catapult® Greater Pittsburgh’s Reclaim & Restore: A Trauma Informed Wellness Experience reminded us that sometimes the most important thing we can do is pause long enough to receive.
Over the years, our President and CEO, Halima Tammy Thompson, heard the community asking:
“How can I be a part?”
“Do I have to wait until the next cohort?”
“Is there a way to experience this work without enrolling in a program?”
The answer became Reclaim & Restore.
What began as a vision to open our doors and create a space where the community could simply come and receive came to life last night on Broad Street Plaza.
Women across generations gathered for an evening of learning, movement, reflection, and restoration. Together, we explored the difference between stress and trauma, how our bodies carry experiences we often don’t realize we’re holding, and practical ways to release tension and reconnect with ourselves.
Led by the incredible Brandi Taylor of Solace Consulting and Amber Talley of Fancy Athletix, the experience was safe and supportive. The movement, breathwork, conversation, and community created an environment where participants could simply exhale.
And let’s talk about that playlist. It was everything.
The best part? This is not a one time event.
Reclaim & Restore is a free monthly experience for the community. Registration is required, but the invitation is open.
For those who couldn’t join us, here’s a small gift from the evening. One of the crowd favorites was “Peace Over Everything” by Tiffany Nacol: https://youtu.be/dt_pUm3FXWs?si=Kvv5F7UbElpECgIQ
Because in a world that constantly asks us to pour out, sometimes the most important thing we can do is pour back into ourselves.
Stay tuned for the next installment of Reclaim & Restore. 💚
