“Wow! I’ve never picked something directly out of a garden before and then cooked and ate it 20 minutes later”

This is a quote from one of our students this summer. We love to give all our students this opportunity! The beauty of seeing a student help grow something, then help cook it, and then eat it is a wonderful learning opportunity to better connect them with food and the places it comes from!

Join us in welcoming Matt DeMaio to The Pittsburgh Project Board of Directors!

Matt DeMaio has been a faithful supporter of The Pittsburgh Project for many years. An associate at Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, Matt has volunteered, participated in our Golf Outing, Marathon, and Fall Fest, and consistently invested in our mission to share hope, empower youth, and build community. His servant heart, professional expertise, and commitment to our community make him a wonderful addition to our Board.

When asked about how he became involved with TPP, Matt says:

"I first got involved with TPP in 2021 and quickly realized not only how much of an impact this organization was having in the North Side but how dedicated the staff and volunteers were. Over the years, I felt the impact and dedication time and time again. I decided to get more involved, teaching a class, attending events, and I saw firsthand how much the kids enjoyed TPP. When I was asked to join the Board, I knew the answer would be an enthusiastic yes. I'm proud to assist TPP in their mission to make the North Side a better place."

Our Board of Directors helps shape the future of The Pittsburgh Project through faithful leadership, thoughtful guidance, and a deep commitment to our mission. We are grateful that Matt has chosen to share his time, talents, and heart with our community, and we're excited for the impact he'll make in this new role.
