ROAD PAVING ALERT in Fineview this Thursday, October 15!

The City of Pittsburgh will be paving Mountford Ave, the whole stretch of it, between Lafayette Ave. and Belleau St. Make sure to plan ahead if this will impact your day!

I’m pleased to share that Zenshine Community Garden has received funding for a Youth Ambassador Project! I’m reaching out to ask for your help identifying at least two students, ages 15–18, who may be interested in participating.

The project will run during the month of October and will include hands-on horticulture classes at Zenshine, with an opportunity for students to help plan a small community event showcasing what they’ve learned. Participating students will receive a stipend upon completion.

With the October timeline approaching quickly, I’m working within a short recruitment window and would greatly appreciate any student recommendations or help sharing this opportunity.

Thank you for helping us connect young people with this learning experience. I’d be happy to share more details with you and any interested students.

**Note: If you have a teenage in your family, will also work.

SATURDAY MORNING #11 Service Disruption to Fineview during the Fineview Step Challenge.... plan ahead this brief detour will affect you!

Hey neighbors! Don't forget: the Fineview Fitness Challenge is October 3! Have you planned ahead for road closures & bus route changes for Saturday morning?

Here's what you need to know:

Temporary street closures and some traffic delays along the race route between 7AM – 11AM

CATOMA STREET will be closed, along with parts of MEADVILLE, LANARK, CEMETERY, and MYLER Streets. Please do not move these barriers; they are there to keep everyone safe! Exiting the closed off areas must be done with extreme caution, as there are runners and walkers on the streets!

TEMPORARY BUS ROUTE DISRUPTION! Between 6am - 11am, the #11 serving Fineview will be rerouted to avoid the race route.

Expect increased foot traffic and visitors in Fineview, as well as lively cheering and directing on corners throughout the neighborhood, with extra activity near the Fineview Overlook (the race start/finish area).
