Pittsburgh Area Community Schools (PACS) implements the Full-Service Community Schools model in districts and schools across the Greater Pittsburgh Region, providing comprehensive academic, social, and health services for students, students’ family members, and community members that result in improved educational outcomes for children. Mission - to bridge the gaps between students, families, schools, and resources, fostering a community where all students can succeed. Vision - to transform public education, creating an equitable education experience for students that enable them to reach their highest potential free from barriers. Pittsburgh Area Community Schools implements the FSCS model in all of our school districts we work in.

Today is Indigenous People Day and we are honoring the Indigenous communities whose ancestral lands our schools and mission are built upon. We recognize their histories, cultures, and enduring contributions, and reflect on the importance of honoring the communities and stewards of these lands.

October is bullying prevention month.

At PACS, we are committed to making sure all of our schools are safe and welcoming places for all students.

Bullying can be a difficult topic to talk about, so here are some PACS picks to help start these important conversations with students of all ages.

September is National Literacy Month and PACS is celebrating the power of reading, learning, and the opportunities they create.
Early Foundation
Reading and storytelling from a young age help children build vocabulary, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Lifelong Impact
Strong literacy skills open doors and support better health outcomes, greater employment opportunities, and stronger participation in our communities.
A Community Effort
Too many children and adults still face challenges with basic reading skills. That’s why community support matters. When we invest in literacy, we invest in people, families, and the future of our communities.
