Joining us this month is John Mlakar, he will be sharing some of his favorite fly patterns.
Meet John, an avid angler whose passion for the sport began in college when his friend Mark introduced him to fly fishing-sparked forever by an unforgettable first catch: a steelhead on a 4-weight rod.
While raising two young children, Brooke (5) and Teddy (2), alongside his wife of eight years, Sarah, and their mini golden doodle, Pivo, keeps him a bit too busy to be on the creeks as much as he'd like these days, he channels that same dedication into his craft.
Nowadays, you can usually find him spending his evenings building custom rods and tying flies at his desk. He is also deeply proud to be active with Project Healing Waters, mentoring and supporting disabled veterans through the therapeutic art of fly fishing and community.
Whether he's on the water or at the vise, he is always excited to share his love of the sport with others.
John will be demonstrating 3 steelhead flies, Possie Bu**er, Emerald Shiner and Rabbit Zonker.
This is a great event for new tiers to give fly tying a try!

New fly tyers and those interested in learning about the craft are encouraged to attend. We'll have extra tools and materials for you to try out!
