Alzheimer's Association grant supports new respite program in Pittsburgh

In 2023, the Alzheimer's Association was awarded a $25 million grant to enhance respite services for dementia caregivers nationwide. This grant established the Center for Dementia Respite Innovation (CDRI) to fund community-based respite programs to develop and improve the delivery of person-centered dementia care.

With funding granted by the CDRI, Vintage Center for Active Adults, a Greater Pennsylvania Chapter program partner and Familylinks, Inc. established Vintage Connections -- a Pittsburgh-based day respite program for adults 60+ with early memory loss.

We are proud to be part of the estabishment of such a program that will make a real difference in the lives of people living with cognitive decline.

Walk to End Alzheimer's Sponsor Spotlight: Century Healthcare Consulting

Today we give a shout-out to Century Healthcare, a community partner and supporter of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Walk. Not only has this organization shown up as a Walk sponsor since 2024, but staff have become engaged as advocates, attending Pennsylvania Advocacy Day this spring.

Together, we are working to raise awareness, support families affected by Alzheimer’s disease, and advance the mission of improving lives through care, education, and community involvement."

We thank this awesome team for its passionate leadership in the fight to and all other dementia. To join them in making a difference, register for Walk today at alz.org/gpawalk.
