July was a busy and exciting month for us at CKP! We kicked things off with our July Guest Chef, Jessica Bauer, and the momentum never slowed. We were honored to welcome Congressman Chris DeLuzio for a visit and a hands-on sausage-making class, while continuing our commitment to serving the community through our contract meal program. Every Wednesday, our food truck was on Diamond Street serving up lunch to our neighbors.
Throughout the month, we were grateful for the many volunteers who generously gave their time to support our mission. Members of our team were also out in the community attending events and sharing all that CKP has to offer. In addition to a full schedule of catering events, we wrapped up the month with an exciting celebration as our Executive Director, Jennifer Flannagan, was named the 2026 Citizen of the Year by the Allegheny Elks Lodge #339 and our catering apprentice, Caress, was nominated for the Jacques Pépin Foundation’s Memorial Grant Program.
As much as we enjoyed an incredible July, we're just as excited for everything August has in store. Stay tuned for updates on all the exciting things happening at CKP this month!
