After weeks of standing together, the Heidelberg strike has officially come to an end with the ratification of a new contract. We are incredibly proud of our members for their strength, determination, and solidarity throughout this fight. A heartfelt thank you goes out to every family member, fellow union, community supporter, elected official, and every person who walked the line, honked a horn, donated supplies, shared our message, or stood beside our members in any way. Your support made a real difference, and this reminder that we are stronger together will not be forgotten.

🚨 UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICE STRIKE 🚨

✊ TEAMSTERS LOCAL 249 IS ON STRIKE.

This isn’t just about a contract. It’s about workers’ rights.

As of 2:00 a.m. on July 7, the members of Teamsters Local 249 officially began an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike against Heidelberg Materials.

Teamsters Local 249 has filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board based on the Company’s conduct during negotiations. Our members are standing up not only for a fair contract, but also for the rights and protections guaranteed under federal labor law.

This strike was not our first choice.

For decades, our members have built a strong collective bargaining agreement through hard work, sacrifice, and solidarity. Unfortunately, the Company has chosen to ignore the need for a long-overdue market correction in wages and retirement contributions while demanding concessionary contract language that would roll back many of the protections our members have earned.

❌ We refuse to allow decades of progress to be undone in a single round of negotiations.

Our members deserve:
✔️ Wages that reflect today’s market.
✔️ Retirement security that honors years of service.
✔️ A contract that protects—not weakens—the rights they have fought to achieve.

Teamsters Local 249 remains ready to negotiate in good faith, but we will not accept concessions that diminish the value of our members’ work or undermine the contract generations of Teamsters have built.
