🍉Advisory Referendum Update🍉

While the Board says this referendum was "decidedly even," we say it is our victory!

We call on the EEFC Board to recognize this victory and remove Israeli products from the shelves of our co-op!

Co-ops Against Genocide will continue to inspire and educate the public on the power of boycotts, pushing for the store-wide boycott and the consumer boycott of Israeli-sourced goods.

The Board will be voting on whether or not to enact the boycott during the board meeting on Monday, June 15th at 7pm.

The meeting will be VIRTUAL ONLY, but we still want to "pack the room!" Personal statements are strongly encouraged!

Attend the meeting here: https://eastendfood.coop/board-of-directors/board-meetings/

Co-ops Against Genocide will issue an additional statement outlining our coalition's next steps following the 6/15 meeting.

Until victory!

EEFC Member-Owners and Community Leaders,

On April 28, the Board opened voting for the advisory referendum vote. Vote by following the link here: https://eastendfoodcoop.simplyvoting.com/

We have until May 28th to get as many member-owners to vote as possible! Help us show the board that the majority of EEFC member-owners stand up against genocide, apartheid, occupation, and war!

You'll need your primary member's last name, household zip code, and the last five digits of your membership number to vote:

Member Number: You can find your Member Number on the back of your Member Card. Remove the leading 4 and zeros as well as the last digit. Example: 4 00000 16989 7 = 16989

Password: Your password is your last name + your 5 digit zip code. Names are all lowercase with no hyphens, spaces, or special characters. Examples: Joe Smith, Jr. = smith12345, Jane O’Rochester = orochester12345, John Weaver-Cooperator = weavercooperator12345

Buried in the Board's lengthy communication about the vote is our Co-ops Against Genocide statement as well as the statement from the new Zionist group "EEFC Together."

UPCOMING EVENTS:
This afternoon (4/30), we will be tabling outside the co-op to pass out our new "Products of Apartheid" zine and encourage member-owners to vote on the advisory referendum vote! Come on down on your lunch break to pick one up.

Tonight! Join us on Thursday, April 30 from 6pm-9pm at East End Brewing Larimer Brewpub (147 Julius St.) for a May Day Eve social, where we will explore the intersections of labor and the anti-war movement. Come meet your fellow EEFC member-owners, union workers, and community leaders and learn more about our boycott campaign. East End Brewing has food, beer, NA offerings like delicious root beer, and a big outdoor patio space. Masking is encouraged. UE Local 667's DEIA committee will be making Mother's Day cards for the local Latinx community at the event! Join us in sending words of love and empowerment to community members under attack.

Public News Service has published a story about UE Local 667's strong anti-war organizing.

"'We all know food is political,' said Geist. 'We decided to endorse the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement by starting a campaign to remove Israeli-sourced products from our shelves until or unless Israel ends all wars and occupation.' Geist added that the campaign aims to show solidarity with Palestinians and push consumers to think about how their spending may connect to the conflicts in Gaza and now Iran."
