Planting a tree is just the beginning, now it's time to help it thrive! Join us as we w**d and mulch street trees throughout Central Lawrenceville, giving them the care they need to grow strong so we can enjoy them for years to come.

Date: Saturday, July 25
Time: 9am – 12pm EDT

Tree Pittsburgh provides all the tools and safety gear. All you need are boots or sturdy sneakers and weather-appropriate attire. Rain or shine (unless it's truly extreme)! ☀️🌧️

Did you know Tree Pittsburgh's own campus is an official arboretum? 🌳

BUT, what exactly is an arboretum? An arboretum is a living museum of trees and woody plants, grown and cared for by an organization committed to their stewardship. To qualify as an arboretum, you need at least 25 species labeled for education, public access, and regular community programming. It's not just a pretty park, it's basically a tree library! And who doesn't love a library!?

Our 5-acre campus along the Allegheny River in Lawrenceville is one of several arboretums right here in the city, alongside spots like Mellon Park, Westinghouse Park, and Allegheny Cemetery. Pittsburgh's got some serious tree cred!

If you're interested in exploring and learning about trees, visiting an arboretum can be a good start to your education journey! 🍃
