On May 25, 2024, Phoenix Fitness Gym opened its doors with a mission: to create a safe, affirming space where trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals could pursue their fitness goals without fear or judgment. Two years later, we've built more than a gym—we've built a community. 💪🏳️‍⚧️

Meet John Persad (she/her) — a one-of-a-kind creation by the talented youth of our Transtastix group!

Proudly displayed in our lobby this month, John Persad is a monumental expression of trans pride, imagination, and self-discovery. Crafted from paper mâché, tin foil, fabric, tape, acrylic paint, glitter, and cardboard, she brings together inspiration from cats, insects, and extraterrestrials to create something entirely unique.

For the teens who created her, John Persad represents the journey of exploring and expressing their identities. She is a celebration of creativity, authenticity, and the freedom to become who you are.

We hope John Persad inspires everyone who meets her to embrace their individuality and explore their identity to the fullest. 🏳️‍⚧️

For more info about our Transtastix group for ages 14-17, email [email protected]. The group meets Wednesdays at 6 PM at Persad. Everyone is welcome; you do not need to be receiving services at Persad to attend.

Registration is now open for Persad's exclusive TransParent support group. This group, which started in 2016, will meet VIRTUALLY for 8 weeks beginning on Wednesday, July 15 and is for parents, family and chosen family of transgender kids of all ages.

Our Outreach Team headed to Westmoreland County today and had an amazing time connecting with community members at Vandergrift PRIDE in the Park!

Throughout the day, the team welcomed visitors, shared resources, answered questions, and helped create a space where everyone felt seen, supported, and celebrated. Events like Pride in the Park remind us of the power of community and the importance of building connections that last far beyond a single day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our tent, shared their stories, and celebrated with us. We are proud to be part of a community that continues to grow in acceptance, inclusion, and pride.

What a great day in Freeport! 🌈

Today, the Persad Outreach Team hit the road and was proud to be the only LGBTQ+ organization in person at Freeport Pride PA.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and had an absolute blast meeting so many wonderful people from the community. From handing out swag to sharing information about the programs and services Persad offers, every conversation was meaningful and reminded us why outreach and meeting people where they are really matters.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and learn more about what we do.

We can't wait to come back to Freeport!

Yesterday, the Persad Outreach Team had a blast at Venango Pride! These events create important opportunities to connect with people and share resources with those that may not always have easy access to supportive behavioral services.

We believe that each conversation we have helps build awareness, reduce barriers, and lets people know they are not alone. We can provide therapy to anyone who lives in PA no matter where you live.
