What's your setup for Cycle AZ 66 next weekend, October 17th? Tell us in the comments ⬇️

There's no one right way to do it.

Gravel grinder? Sounds comfy. 👍 Road bike? You'll be so fast. 👍 Folding bike? You'll be amongst friends. 👍 Fixed gear? Hope you like pedaling! 👍 Hybrid commuter? It's not a race. 👍 E-assist? Whatever gets you out on the open road! 👍

No matter what kind of shorts you wear or what your gearing looks like, here are some things to keep in mind:

☀️ Sun Protection: you'll need it! Sunglasses, long sleeves, lotion and chapstick. Sunscreen will be part of our support crew kits, too.

💦 Hydration: keep it up! We'll have water at every aid station to keep your bottles full. Be sure to hydrate before the event and find a favorite electrolyte.

🧠 Know your bike: These Route 66 shoulders aren't perfect, and there is a bit of climbing on this route. Come confident that your bike is in good working condition with l**e, trusted brakes, and reliable tires. Our support crew can handle the unpredictable.

🤕 And obviously, you'll need a helmet.

The rest is up to you!

Thank you to Gensler Phoenix and Oscar De Las Salas for hosting a thoughtful conversation on active transportation, and to our presenters for sharing their work. 🚲

Architects and designers shape the places where we live, work, and move, which makes them essential partners in building an Arizona that doesn’t just accommodate an active lifestyle but encourages it. When streets, buildings, and public spaces are designed with people in mind, walking, biking, and rolling become the natural choice instead of the exception.

We’re grateful for the conversation, the ideas, the questions, and the shared commitment to a healthier, more connected built environment. Let’s keep building it together.

Activate. Educate. Celebrate.
