NPHC-SEPA partnered with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® - Omega Omega Chapter and ATAC for a town hall meeting centered on the 1965 Voting Rights Act yesterday. Madam President gave opening remarks.

Michael Coard, Esq., an attorney and civil rights activist, delivered a presentation discussing the history and impact of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. He addressed its influence on voting rights, current challenges around voter suppression, and possible solutions. After the presentation, he was presented with an award honoring his years of advocacy. Additionally, there was an interactive discussion.

Our Council always aims to raise awareness that every vote matters and we actively seek ways to motivate voters to participate in the November 5th election and all future elections!

It is taking place TOMORROW, Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Bright Hope Baptist Church, 1601 N. 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Each One, Reach One, starting Wednesday, August 5, 2026, meet us at A. Philip Randolph Technical School (3101 Henry Avenue Phila, PA). Shifts begin at 4 PM. The Council will be partnering with the school to help refresh their spaces for the upcoming school year. Teacher supplies donations are very welcome.

On Thursday, August 6th, who doesn’t love a good Game Night!? Bring your favorite games to this night of fellowship, laughter, and fun. There will be Karaoke on deck too! We will be at the Black-Owned Casey's (812 N. Lansdowne Ave, Drexel Hill, PA) at 6 PM.

Come cool down at our Greek Splash on Friday, August 7th from 6-9 pm at the Black-Owned George Washington Carver Pool (249 East Jacoby St, Norristown, PA)! We're bringing this event to you for FREE! Expect a food truck with delicious food available for purchase and a DJ with dope tunes. Bring a towel, swimwear, sunscreen, and beverages!

On Saturday, August 8th, Greek Kickback with us at the newly renovated, Black-Owned Peabody (1431 Cecil B. Moore Ave, Phila, PA). Look forward to great music, good food, no cover, All Vibes!

We'll be closing Greek Week 2026 out with a moment of thanks, Praise & Worship! Join us on Sunday, August 9th as we Lift Every Praise at Prince of Peace Baptist Church (1844 N. 32nd St, Phila, PA) at 11 AM for a mighty word!
