PSD was delighted to welcome Chef Rosetta Hummel, a Deaf chef, business owner, and author, to our school last week!

Chef Rosetta spent Wednesday and Thursday with our students, sharing her experiences growing up and her journey to becoming a chef and business owner. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a fun, hands-on cookie activity with her!

She is also the author of "When I Was Four", published under the name Rosetta M. Stevenson.

Chef Rosetta’s visit to PSD was also featured on PHL17 Morning News!

Thank you, Chef Rosetta, for sharing your story, experiences, and talents with our students!

🐾Welcome back, PSD staff!🐾

Today we're excited to welcome our amazing staff back to campus as we get ready for another great school year!

We kicked off the new school year with teamwork, creativity, and a little friendly competition! Staff worked in groups across 15 tables, with each team challenged to build the tallest tree 🌳 using a variety of simple materials.

The activity was a fun way to highlight the different strengths and skills each person brings to a team and, of course, one team earned bragging rights for building the tallest tree!

A great reminder that when we bring our individual strengths together, we can build something pretty amazing.

We're so glad to have you back! 🐾
