⭐ Summer Art Spotlight: Team Pride Through Art & Music! 🎨🎶

Our Hancock students celebrated Team Pride during the ASI Summer Art Program with colorful quilt and stamp projects and took creativity to the next level by turning recycled materials into their very own instruments! ♻️🥁

Through hands-on art and music, students practiced creativity, collaboration, communication, persistence, and problem-solving while building confidence and making independent creative choices.

One student summed it up perfectly: “I made it make music! I didn’t know we could make instruments out of this recycled stuff!” 💚

What a bright spot of the day discovering that everyday materials can become something completely new! ✨

Art Sphere Inc. is seeking a Remote Volunteer Experience Coordinator to help support the incredible volunteers who make our mission possible.
📌 Please note: This is an unpaid volunteer leadership position with an estimated commitment of 5–10 flexible hours per week.
Each year, our volunteers help us provide free arts education, literacy programs, music instruction, and community initiatives serving nearly 1,000 children and families.
In this role, you will:

✅ Help match volunteers with meaningful opportunities
✅ Coordinate onboarding and communication

"I don't really like books."
Those were the first words one student told our volunteers.
So instead of handing her a book, we started asking questions.
"What do you like?"
She shrugged.
"What makes you curious?"
Rocks.
Mountains.
Digging.
Five minutes later, she was smiling as she hugged a geology book she couldn't wait to read.
Across the room another child discovered books in Spanish.
Another found animation books.
Another spotted a favorite author and shouted, "I've been looking for this!"
By the end of the afternoon every student left carrying up to five books not because we gave them books.....because they discovered books that felt like they belonged to them.
This is why Art Sphere doesn't simply distribute books.

What does eating healthy mean to you?
What started as a lesson on washing strawberries turned into an exciting STEAM experience. As strawberries soaked in a baking soda solution, students, teachers, staff, and volunteers were amazed to see the dirt and residue left behind in the water.

The activity sparked conversations about:
🍓 Why washing fruits and vegetables matters.
🧪 Food safety and pesticides.
🌱 Organic vs. conventionally grown produce.
🍌 Which fruits should always be washed before eating.

Best of all, everyone enjoyed fresh strawberries and watermelon while seeing science come to life! 🍓🍉

Art Sphere Inc. is looking for passionate high school volunteers and teen leaders to help lead our 2026 Youth Day of Service & Remembrance honoring the lives affected by September 11, 2001.
Join a team of young leaders who will:
🎨 Create meaningful community art projects
🤝 Mentor younger students
❤️ Design gratitude cards for first responders, veterans, and community heroes
🖌️ Paint collaborative remembrance murals and "Hands of Service" displays
🌎 Earn volunteer service hours while making a lasting impact in your community
🎤 Build leadership, teamwork, public speaking, and project management skills
No artistic experience is required just a willingness to learn, serve, and inspire others.
This is your opportunity to turn creativity into kindness and help your community remember the power of courage, compassion, and unity.
