🎭🎶 Meet the performers taking the stage at the 2026 Annual Meeting & Arts Party!

We’re officially less than ONE WEEK AWAY from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance’s biggest annual gathering of the creative sector, and we’re thrilled to share this year’s incredible lineup.

On Tuesday, October 13, join us at the Independence Seaport Museum for an evening celebrating Greater Philadelphia’s artistry, history, and creative spirit under this year’s theme, Anchoring Histories, Navigating Futures. This year's performances are curated by and feature:

✨ Germaine Ingram will perform “Body Move,” an excerpt from Dinner with Dinah, an immersive work created by Trapeta B. Mayson centering Dinah, an African-descended woman enslaved at Stenton Mansion in Germantown in the 18th century.

🎤 Laurin Talese Music + Corey Bernhard will bring their acclaimed artistry to the stage, pairing Talese’s award-winning vocals and storytelling with Bernhard’s dynamic musicianship and genre-spanning sound.

🎧 And DJ lil' dave will keep the Arts Party moving with an eclectic mix of soul, hip-hop, house, broken beat, funk, and rare groove.

And the celebration doesn’t stop there. Stay for music, networking, a b**r and w**e bar, and an Oktoberfest-inspired spread with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

🗓️ UPDATE: PHLCouncil has postponed the Legislative Oversight Hearing on the Academy of Natural Sciences. The new hearing date will be Monday, October 26, 2026 at 2:00pm at Philadelphia City Hall.

Thank you to Councilmember Jeffery Young, Jr. and Councilmember At-Large Nina Ahmad for their continued efforts to examine the financial and governance decisions behind the closure and identify viable solutions.

The planned closure of the The Academy of Natural Sciences is about more than one institution—it is a call to confront the broader challenges facing Greater Philadelphia’s cultural ecosystem.

Philadelphia’s arts and culture sector helps define who we are—but too many of the cultural organizations that make our city vibrant are being asked to do more with less.

When organizations lose funding, the impact reaches far beyond their walls: fewer teaching artists in schools, fewer performances in neighborhoods, fewer jobs for cultural workers, and fewer opportunities for residents to experience the arts.

As Cultural Alliance President & CEO Patricia Wilson Aden writes in a new guest commentary for The Philadelphia Citizen:

“Philadelphia already knows what its cultural community creates. The question is whether our leaders are willing to act — and invest accordingly.”

This piece examines what Philadelphia can learn from places like Pittsburgh and New York, and why sustained public investment can give cultural organizations the stability to retain workers, strengthen programming, maintain their facilities, and plan for the future.
