Throwback Thursday:
Catherine Beers is one of only three headstones in the cemeteries dating to 1798; the oldest ones we have still standing. She was 14 years old when she passed away, father John is buried right next to her and died a few years later.
This area is immediately behind the service station at the corner of W. Main St. and Waverly-you can see the fence behind their building on the right side of this photo. We are struggling and working really hard to overcome invasive plants in this area and we really want to restore this, the oldest part of the cemetery.
We need your help!
If you can work with your hands, let us know.
If then you can give us a dollar or $1000, let us know.

Since the property is scheduled to be mowed on Wednesday, we will Not be cleaning headstones that day but Will be cleaning on Thursday.

PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD CLIMATE ACTION CLUB CONTRIBUTES TO LOCAL POLLINATOR GARDENING

Patchogue-Medford climate action club members partnered with the Village of Patchogue Climate Smart Task Force and Citizens Campaign for the Environment for an impactful pollinator gardening event. Students from Eagle Elementary School, Oregon Middle School, River Elementary School, and South Ocean Middle School helped fill bioswales along the south side of Great Patchogue Lake with native pollinator plants. This work aimed to support the local ecosystem and to provide one of the community’s main entry points with brushstrokes of floral beauty from spring to early fall.
