Meet Me: Andrea Stolz

Reader. Photographer. Gardener. Community advocate. Lion.

I hold a BA in English from Mary Washington College, a Family Development Credential from Columbia University, and a graduate certificate in Digital Media for Social Impact from the University of Pennsylvania. I ended a 20 year career in family advocacy as the director of Long Island Families Together, a nonprofit supporting caregivers of children with emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges.

I have been a Lion for nearly five years and currently serve as recording secretary as well as our club’s Reading Action Program (RAP), where I bring free, high-quality books to local soup kitchens.

When I’m not at one of my three book clubs, you’ll often find me at the Patchogue-Medford Library—finding my next must-read, picking up seeds for my garden, or printing photos in the Makerspace.

“I’ve always loved libraries. As a kid, that’s where I first fell in love with books. Later, as a military spouse, they helped me feel at home in new communities wherever we landed. That’s a big part of why I’m running this year for library board trustee—I want to make sure other people have those same enriching opportunities and community connections that I did.”

Vote April 14th

Be sure to check out the Patchogue Lioness Lions Club exhibit at the Main Branch when you vote on the Patchogue-Medford Library budget on April 14!

At the St. Joseph’s Spaghetti Dinner celebration, held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, on Thursday, March 19, Judy Rohtla, 2nd Vice President of the Patchogue Lioness Lions Club and 28 year member of Lions International, sponsored and presented a Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award to The Rev. James E. Reiss, Rector, along with club members Cheryl Felice and Michelle Napoli. The award honors outstanding individuals (both Lions and non-Lions) who provide a significant service to their Club, District or Community.

In addition to receiving an engraved plaque, Fr. Reiss was also given a lapel pin that will identify him as someone who demonstrates and believes in the Lions’ philosophy as someone who has done more than his share in the community and truly believes in the motto of Lionism, “We Serve.” All agree, Fr. Reiss certainly does! Guests were entertained to the incomparably singing voice of Fr. Reiss, who sings like Sinatra, while both Judy and Michele volunteered in the kitchen and served up a superb meal.

🎉 Celebrating 80 Incredible Years! 🎉

A huge congratulations to The Colony Shop on 80 years of serving our Patchogue community!

For eight decades, they’ve been part of our town’s story — building relationships, creating traditions, and standing strong as a true local gem.

And we’re especially proud to share that the owners are dedicated long time members of the Patchogue Lioness Lions Club 💛 — continuing their commitment to service both inside and outside their business.

80 years of business.
80 years of community.
80 years of heart.

Patchogue thrives because of leaders like these.

🩸 Someone in our community needs blood today.

Not next week.
Not next month.
Today.

Accident victims.
Cancer patients.
Mothers experiencing complications.
Premature babies fighting to grow stronger.

Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only come from people willing to roll up their sleeves.

One donation can help up to three lives.
Just one hour of your time could mean decades for someone else.

This is one of the simplest, most powerful ways to give back — right here in our own community.

Be someone’s lifeline.
Be someone’s miracle.
Be someone’s reason they get another tomorrow.

🩸 Join us at our upcoming blood drive on Monday, March 16, 2026 and make a difference that truly matters. More information coming soon.

Celebrated with my Patchogue Lioness Lions members at the Lions District 20-S Cabinet Meeting and Legacy Recognition night. Service Awards were given for 10 years to 75 years and Patchogue was featured in each!
Gail Farmer and I each received our 10 year certificate and chevron while sister club members Lois Flynn garnered a Melvin Jones Award and PDG Lorri Rieger earned the coveted Humanitarian Partner Award.

Our brother clubs, the Patchogue Lions Club and Medford North Patchogue Lions Club also earned equally impressive service awards. But none were more impressive than that of Arthur Fuccillo, of Patchogue who was recognized for 75 years of Lionism.

Congratulations to District Governor Fran Beringer and her Cabinet for a job well done!
