NAMI Oshkosh is proud to partner with UW Extension to share an important message: You Matter. You Matter is our motto at NAMI Oshkosh because we believe every person makes a difference and nobody should feel alone when it comes to mental health. UW Extension's program, You Matter Mail, is a great way to combat loneliness and isolation in our community and lets your neighbors know you care!

With You Matter Mail, you can spread kindness anonymously to participating residents of Winnebago County. Send out a positive message and receive one back. Scan the QR code or visit the website to register for free.

There is also an opportunity for artists of all ages and abilities to participate in a postcard contest. Design a 4x6 postcard that will spread kindness, hope, and positivity. If selected, your artwork will be featured on postcards used in the You Matter Mail exchange. Artwork must be submitted by August 31. Community Living Room is now at Planet Perk Coffee City Center on MONDAYS! Join us for connection and conversation on Mondays between 3 and 8 pm, at 100 Suite C City Center in Oshkosh, WI. The word is getting out about this healing and connective space, and we're overjoyed to be opening more opportunities for folks to connect, feel seen and heard by their community members. We are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis where people, more than ever, feel alone, like no one gets or understands them, and are isolating out of fear, grief, and hardship. Now is the time for us to come together! You are absolutely not alone! There are many folks feeling these same ways. Community Living Room is FREE and open to EVERYONE! There is no registration or signups required. You can just show up as you are, carrying all that you bring, including your big emotions, and feel welcomed. This is our hope for you and for all of us! The Oshkosh CIT/CIP Committee is providing a CIT training for law enforcement and co- responders the week of October 12-16 at the Oshkosh Police Department 420 Jackson St, Oshkosh.

CIT gives law enforcement and co- responders the tools to respond to mental health crisis calls safely and effectively.

Throughout the week participants will learn about mental health diagnoses, QPR, de-escalation, officer mental health, and will utilize skills learned in role playing scenarios.
