Rhythm surrounds us every day.

It can be found in waves, footsteps, city streets, birdsong, brushstrokes, gardens, traffic, dance, repetition, or the routines that shape our lives.

The Newton Art Association invites members to explore Rhythm of Life through artwork that celebrates movement, energy, pattern, and flow.

Whether your interpretation is bold and expressive or quiet and meditative, we can’t wait to see your perspective.

A strong submission starts with a strong photograph.

Natural lighting, a straight-on angle, and a clean background can make all the difference when presenting your artwork online.

Before your next submission, take a few extra minutes to photograph your work carefully. It’s one of the easiest ways to help jurors experience your artwork as intended.

What if your artwork became part of someone’s daily routine?

The Bus Stop Display offers artists the opportunity to share their work in a public space where it can inspire commuters, neighbors, and visitors throughout the year.
This juried opportunity is open to Newton Art Association members, and artists may submit up to three images for consideration.

We’ll explore each of the suggested themes and share ideas to spark your creativity.

Last night, we celebrated our annual Bonnar Exhibit at the Morse Institute Library. It was a night full of art, connection, and community.

Held in honor of our founder, James King Bonnar, this exhibit reflects his belief that artists thrive when they support one another and last night truly embodied that spirit.

We were honored to have juror Jane Carney, whose thoughtful insights made the evening even more meaningful, along with music from Detours Ahead and the incredible support of our volunteers.
