Patients, survivors, care partners, and medical professionals from around the world dedicate June 10, 2026, as Ependymoma Awareness Day.
While we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the CERN Foundation, Collaborative Ependymoma Research Network, a program of NBTS, today is a vital reminder of why our mission remains so urgent.
Ependymoma is a rare primary brain and spine tumor. Because this disease impacts a relatively small number of patients, it is frequently overlooked in broader cancer conversations, making dedicated advocacy essential.
A rare diagnosis shouldn't mean rare options. The ependymoma community desperately needs:
🔬 Targeted Clinical Trials: Moving towards therapies designed specifically for the unique drivers of ependymoma.
🧬 Advanced Research: Deepening our scientific understanding of tumor biology to unlock new potential treatment pathways.
🌱 Quality of Life Protections: Developing therapeutic strategies that don't just eliminate the tumor, but preserve the long-term cognitive, physical, and emotional health of survivors.
Behind the statistics are real faces, families, and stories. We stand with every patient, caregiver, and scientist trying to overcome this disease.
