Surgical needles and sutures are essential for virtually every medical procedure. From minor cuts to highly specialized microsurgeries, & from cesarean deliveries to open-heart operations, they are indispensable tools for closing wounds and ensuring proper healing.

Due to the ongoing blockade & sanctions, importing sutures into Cuba is extremely challenging and costly, often up to 3x more expensive, resulting in widespread shortages across the country.

U.S. Oil Blockade Intensifies Humanitarian Crisis in Cuba - The fuel shortage have worsened following measures imposed by the U.S. at the end of January to block the entry of oil shipments. Despite some limited oil shipments, the energy crisis has worsened paralyzing essential services.

Elective surgeries have been suspended and only emergency procedures are being performed. More then 96,000 surgeries remain pending.

Stand in solidarity with the Cuban people and help mitigate the impact of the ongoing challenged by contributing to our surgical sutures campaign for Cuba. The oil blockade and ongoing sanctions are causing deaths that would otherwise be preventable.

Nuestra America Convoy Aid Summary Part Two: What was in the boxes?

The full inventory is extensive, hundreds of line items and tens of thousands of units, valued at about $500,000. However, we wanted to highlight some of the most valuable and life‑saving supplies included in the March 20 convoy shipment.

These items represent only a fraction of what was sent, our shipment included medications, respiratory supplies, surgical kits, NICU materials, infection‑control equipment, mobility aids, IV supplies, and basic patient‑care items. Every box reflects a commitment to dignity, health, and solidarity.

Nuestra America Convoy Aid Summary
Thanks to your solidarity, we were able to contribute up to $500,000 worth of medical supplies with the Nuestra America Convoy plane that flew from Miami to Havana on March 20.

Global Health Partners works directly with the cuban ministry of health whom distributed the aid between the Calixto Garcia Hospital, the Juan Manuel Marquez Pediatric Hospital and the Pediatric Hospital William Soler.

The needs in Cuba remain urgent and unrelenting. Shortages of medical supplies, equipment, and basic necessities continue to affect families and healthcare workers across the island. Your support ensures that this aid reaches the people who need it most.

La solidaridad no descansa. A pesar de los obstáculos, continuamos apoyando al pueblo cubano para que pueda ejercer su derecho a la salud ❤️ Nuestra campaña sigue avanzando:

✈️Hoy salen 50 nuevos marcapasos rumbo a Cuba
✅760 ya han sido recibidos y distribuidos a lo largo y ancho del país
❗️Con este envío, alcanzamos un total de 810 dispositivos y el mismo número de vidas salvadas.

¡Y, no paramos! Ya se han encargado otros 150 marcapasos que serán enviados en mayo y julio de 2026.
